I will make it short as far as the review goes <G>
The order arrived as expected. When purchasing the initial rack
unit, everything went accordingly, all the way up to shipment and
delivery. Excellent.

When receiving the rack mount case, opened and inspected it. Nice design,
just what I ordered. This will work really well in my studio when I
have the rack system finalized for the equipment.

From a home-studio engineer/musician's perspective, I'd definately
recommend you to others for future business. Keep it up, you've got
a customer whenever he needs cases and supplies as-needed.

Thanks for a job well done. From someone who is in the IT field also
in what I deal with, this is the highest compliment I can give.

Use this as a quote as needed -
--
"Excellent rack case design, perfect for those who need to organize
their systems in a network-home studio environment".
**

My weekend hobby is a musician/engineer with the equipment I have, tech
writer during the week fulltime where I work.

Hello Compute-aid.com,
Recently, I have personally done business with your company. I ordered a case/power supply assembly, to be used for building my Children's new computer. I was impressed that I could view this case online, a full 360' . I knew exactly what I was getting and, it arrived in a timely matter. The customers whom visit our Channels on aShoppingGuide.com, are looking for quality merchants such as you. I truly feel that by promoting your site on aShoppingGuide.com, will be an asset for our customers, as well as a marketing benefit for you.

I recently purchases one of your 1U cases and I must say I really do like
it! I plan on purchasing more to build a lot of servers and had a few
questions.

1. Is it possible to get higher rated power supplies? I noticed you use
Emacs power supplies, and they do make higher rated power supplies. If so I
would be interested in a 250W power supply and would like to know how much
more the case would cost.

2. Is it possible to get the case with a different backing to accomodate
different motherboard connector configurations? Some of the new dual
processor boards have different configurations now.

3. Do you sell extra fans for the side's of the case and the extra hard
drive holder as shown on the ATXcase.com website? If so, how much are the
fans and hard drive holder?

Sincerely,
Adam Prentice

I just wanted to thank you for answering all my questions within
several hours of posting, I have dealt with many online providers
as I build custom computers for varied clients and with the variety of components utilizing case space, it is gratifying to find a
source with such fine hardware and spacious workspace AND the fine
service to boot. In these days of second generation computing, the
amount of components and the complexity of their configuration can
reek havok on a less well designed airflow case. The computer I built
with this case (mid-tower 940k w/350 PS) and the two optional case
fans, maintain a sub-room temp at idle and around 105F at full load
with an ASUS A7V/900MHz T-Bird with an Alpha 3065 HSF, which is well
known to run at meltdown temps without proper cooling. This case has
great airflow, looks good and is SAFE for overclocking. Kudos to the
staff again for the service and thumbs up for the case and PS
(very Quiet for the size and power)
thanks again, Al

Hi, here is feedback on case I purchased (comments to a colleague) -- the M999 plus 350W PS. Yes I REALLY do like it -- you were right!!!

COPY TO FOLLOW

Tony, some feedback on the ATX case I purchased, as I said I would. This may be of use to you. It is Taiwanese made, model M999 on Compute Aid. No fancy brand names of course. You could make one up "Frigidaire" etc Not sure if they would let you sell, but this case may be worth investigating and comparing to your other cases.

The dimensions are 8"x15"Dx16"H. It has a snap-front bexel, two removable (2 screws in back) side panels, a entry air vent grill on the left panel, and room for 7 slots. The front bezel has 3 full slots outside, 1 "Zip" 3.5 slot outside up above these, and a "recessed" (mac style) 3.5" floppy slot down below, which actually works. There are two other 3.5 slots inside for HDD, down low by the exhaust fan. There are two fan vents for 3.5" case fans front (behind the bezel) and back (just below the PS). The PS (which they billed as 350W; looks to be 320W, 160W each on the 3.5V and 5V side) is a sweety. Its got a huge 4.5" intake fan inside, facing the CPU (down; the MB sits vertically) and a conventional 3.5" exhaust. Its a small PS but boy does it have long pigtails -- must be a foot each, with 3 connectors on each end (one for floppy/HDD/front fan, the other for CDR/Zip/back fan/afterburner, and the third I don't need). It is extremely quiet (most noise from the case fans) -- has something called "Noise Suppression" which I think means ball bearings and tight mounting screws. Also one of those little 3-prong connectors for the cooler (but it doesn't fit) There is a screw-on MB plate on the right side which works well -- 2 screws on inside, one on bottom (outside) of case. No obstructions, lots of space. all the steel edges are rolled. Boy there's a ton of room in there. The front bezel has a standard switch and reset, power LED and HDD active -- no keylocks or any such stuff The power switch is a little bitty thing, a bit chinzy

It comes with no documentation but has a second bezel for desktop (you have to unscrew and flip a drive cage) and a 2nd replacement plate for AT motherboards.

The PS is an "Enermax" model 351. It has ball-bearing fans and seems well documented. It is VERY quiet

I really like this case, because of the set up (zip drive clearly offset from CDR and floppy, and not close to the power switch). I knew I liked the layout when I saw it. It is to boot well made and well braced. It is easy to get into and seems well designed for ventilation (we'll see) Its a smart, minimal-fuss case and I think its a winner. Its way nicer than the Enlights.

My only gripes: while I don't mind the screws for the side panels, I wish they had used big thumbscrews (happen to have a couple on hand I put on). Also, the front bezel has 2 wings up top that are half-weight and snapped off the first few times I pulled it off. But the other six wide tabs seem to do all the work anyway. Finally, the little 3-prong fan connector from the PS to the fan is a female and doesn't fit on the cooler (backwards) , so I have to cool from the motherboard I guess. Maybe this is ATX standard, I don't know

The cost for "350W" was $76+ship including 2 case fans. It would be $33 less for the standard 250W PS. They let you choose your PS. They also listed a 300W, but it was out of stock and they strongly recommended the 350W because of the extra fan for CPU venting. They have a tech department (support@ compute-aid.com) and my contact from sales was sophie order@ compute-aid.com

I'll fire up the Athlon tonite......let me know about greasing recommendations for the cooler surface. I really don't want to pull the plate off -- by the way there is grease already on the Cache chips (and the heat plate) but there is considerable separation (looks like a foam pad!) as the cache chips lie lower than the core.

Joe

Hi,

I thought I would send a quick message to thank you for all your support. I have one machine running now (cross your fingers or knock on wood!) and am working on a second machine.

I also figured out why the HDD cooling fan was so noisy. When I installed the 2nd one on the other system it was quieter than the 1st system so I took off the grill on the 1st one and noticed the fan blades were catching on the black mesh filter thus causing the bogging down of the fan and the noise! Presto! It works great now!

I hope you have a wonderful holiday season and happy new year! (This board is Y2K ready isn't it?! Ha Ha)

Take Care,
Angela Pegouske

washing machine broke (Oh joy of home ownership). Today I went back over

I did this the fans took off like an airplane. Please realize this is
